About Us
We have two organic farms: Elm Tree Farm and Allison
Lane End Farm.
Elm Tree farm has 168 acres of land situated 5 miles
south of Bridlington and about a mile from the sea. In
1990 we began to convert to organic farming by sowing
one field each year with a grass/clover mixture to
increase the soil fertility. The farm is now
approximately half grass and half cereals with about 9
acres of field vegetables and supports a herd of cows
whose calves are reared on the farm along with sheep and
lambs. In 1998 we started to sell our own vegetables
from the farm gate at Elm Tree Farm Barmston and at the
same time we started our organic box scheme.
In 2002 we took over Allison Lane End Farm, Lissett, and
began converting another 100 acres into organic
farmland. Our Soil Association licence numbers are G1855
& P5571.
We operate a organic box scheme where we deliver for
free (check village delivery list) a bag of our organic
fruit or vegetables every week. The fresh organic
produce we supply varies with the seasons.
A typical vegetable box contains potatoes, carrots,
onions, seasonal salad (including tomatoes and peppers),
cucumber, cabbage and beans.
A typical fruit box contains apples, oranges, pears, and
bananas.
This is not our complete range and be assured we will
put your box together to accommodate your likes and
dislikes, and our seasonal fruit and vegetables. Our aim
is to put at least 6 different types of vegetables in
each box and 4 different fruits in each fruit box. We
are happy to mix the box with both fruit and vegetables
if you wish.
